The standard width of a commercial toilet cubicle is typically 800mm wide. All washroom cubicles should have at least 450mm diameter of manoeuvring space so that the user is comfortable whilst using the facilities.

What is the standard size of a shower cubicle?

The standard size of a shower cubicle is approximately 2000mm by 1000mm. Disabled shower cubicles are larger and are typically 2000mm by 2200mm to allow the user more room to manoeuvre. 

How to fit toilet cubicles

Before you order washroom toilet cubicles, you should contact the supplier to ensure that you find the best option for your business’s needs. Here’s a brief outline of how to fit toilet cubicles once you’ve received your cubicles and fixings:

1. Unpack and lay out your washroom cubicles so you have all of your panels and fixings in front of you.

2. Mark out and fit your wall fixings according to your new washroom design (U-brackets and U-channels). 

3. Fit the pilasters to the end of the cubicle partitions and fix them directly to the wall.

4. Fit in the head rails and doors according to the design drawing.

5. Finally, fit in the hinges, doors and locks, ensuring these are level and secure.

What are toilet cubicles made of?

Toilet cubicles are available in a range of materials, including:

• Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) - this has a chipboard core and is coated with melamine resin-impregnated paper. This type of material is only suitable for dry areas. Why not take a look at our Executive Range of MFC washroom cubicles?

• High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) - this also has a chipboard core and is coated with high-pressure laminate on both sides. This type of material is only suitable for dry areas. Why not take a look at our Future Range of HPL washroom cubicles?

Why do toilet cubicles have gaps?
