Shower swivel head FAQs
How to clean shower head
It’s important to clean your swivel shower heads regularly to keep your washrooms well-maintained and fully functional. Without regular cleaning, showers can have a weaker water flow, spray out water sporadically and form a build-up of unsightly limescale. Here’s how you can clean a shower head in a few easy steps:
-
Remove the shower head (you can usually do this by unscrewing it) and keep the rubber washer (if your shower has one) safe.
-
Submerge the shower head in a cleaning solution (you could also use white vinegar), this will remove the limescale deposits.
-
Rinse the cleaning solution off of the shower - you may require a sponge to wipe away any grime or a brush to gently scrub away any stubborn stains.
-
Reattach your shower head once cleaned and run the shower before use to flush out any residual cleaning solution and limescale.
Are shower heads universal UK?
Most shower heads are suitable for use with showers in the UK as they’ll have similar fittings in the UK, the thread size of pipes used in showers to fit shower heads and hoses is 1/2” BSP (British Standard Pipe).
If you’re unsure of whether this swivel shower head is right for your bathroom showers, please do not hesitate to contact our team for advice.
What is vandal resistant?
Vandal resistant products such as this Bristan swivel shower head are designed to resist damage from users and be more securely fixed. They are particularly useful in bathrooms prone to vandalism, including prisons, schools and public washrooms.
How often should you clean a shower head?
You should aim to clean your shower head regularly in order to prevent the build-up of limescale and keep your showers running smoothly. How often you clean your swivel shower head may depend on a number of factors such as how much traffic your washroom sees as busier bathrooms will require more maintenance to keep the facilities clean.
