Executive Washroom Refurbishment
Following an extensive renovation project at their head offices in Surbiton, Viadex got in touch with us to discuss the refurbishment of their executive washrooms.
Due to the wet, high-traffic environment of office washrooms, the technology company was seeking a separate specialist contractor for these works. Commercial washroom refurbishment is a technical area and having the correct knowledge of products, materials, and order of the process is invaluable.
Viadex were extremely happy with our washroom designs and instructed us to undertake their executive washroom refurbishment project. Washrooms are often overlooked in executive office refurbishment projects but can leave the most lasting impression on visitors, clients, and employees.
Washroom Refurbishment Preparations
The two washrooms at Viadex’s head office required the relocation of mains water and waste pipes. These major works were taken care of swiftly before we were able to set to the task of remodelling them.
Executive Washroom Product Selection
Solid surface vanity tops were fitted with integrated moulded basins. These were partnered with a minimalistic lever mixer tap and around the mirrors we installed bespoke strip lighting, lending a glowing effect to the area.
Highly durable Karndean laminate floor was laid and large 450x450 grey porcelain wall tiles were also fitted.
Washroom Hygiene Considerations
Grouting between wall tiles is an area where bacteria can build up and requires regular, thorough cleaning. The large wall tiles selected reduce the amount of grout needed, resulting in improved hygiene and an easier to clean washroom.
Other hygiene and usability improvements were also implemented, in keeping with the executive washroom theme. Including sensor-activated flushing systems and energy-efficient hand dryers selected by the client.
Executive Toilet Cubicles & Design Touches
New toilet cubicles and partitions were installed, made from High-Pressure Laminate, which is incredibly durable and resistant to water. Pipework was concealed behind duct panelling systems also made from the High-Pressure Laminate, keeping things looking smart, but also reducing exposed surface areas, another easy-clean feature.
We also built a new suspended ceiling where economic LED lighting was fitted alongside air extraction fans to keep the rooms smelling fresh. To finish, we incorporated a glass splash-back above the vanity unit in Viadex’s corporate colours, giving a bounce of colour and to tie together all the washroom design features into this executive washroom.
