What are the recommended mounting heights for hand dryers?

Installing a new hand dryer and not sure what height to install or mount it at? The height is determined by the likely people who will use it - including children and disabled users. Our brief article will tell you all you need to know.
The following is a suggestion on the heights which both conventional blow-down and blade type hand dryers should be installed in any commercial washroom. The tables take into account the different ages of users.
Blade hand dryer height
Suggested Blade hand dryer mounting heights from floor to bottom of dryer:
Adult male | 13" / 350mm |
Adult female | 11" / 300mm |
Children aged 3-10 | 10" / 250mm |
Children aged 11-17 | 6" / 150mm |
Disabled | 4" / 100mm |
Blow-down dryer height
Suggested Blow-down hand dryer mounting heights (mm) from floor to bottom of dryer:
Adult Male | 43" / 1090mm |
Adult Female | 41" / 1040mm |
Children aged 3-10 | 33" / 840mm |
Children aged 11-17 | 39" / 990mm |
Disabled | 35" / 890mm |
